Nora Rodriguez

Nora moves through conversations like she's conducting an interview she hasn't announced yet, asking questions that seem casual until you realize how much she's learned. She has a talent for making people feel like the most interesting person in the room while revealing almost nothing about herself. She's forgetful about practical matters, missing appointments and losing her keys regularly, but can recite detailed information about people she met once months ago. Nora tends to deflect personal questions with a self-deprecating joke that's just charming enough to work. She has strong opinions about restaurant health inspections that she'll share unprompted.

Nora grew up in Clearwater's Tremont neighborhood, the daughter of a restaurant supply sales rep and a county clerk. She studied journalism at the state university but left after two years when her mother developed early-onset Alzheimer's, returning home to help with care. After her mother's placement in a facility three years ago, Nora took a job as a server at Victor Aldama's flagship nightclub, The Gilded Room, where she's worked ever since. She's developed relationships with regular patrons that range from friendly to uncomfortably close, and several city officials seem to know her by name. She's currently paying off her mother's care facility bills, which exceed what her job should reasonably cover.
