Zeus Interplanetary Mining Operations

In 2135, most if not all space-related activities are held by four private companies whose activities transcend Earth-countries national interests and afford them untold levels of political power, financial resources and manpower, employing millions of people across their intra and extra-planetary industries: The Martian Project - a conglomerate focused on the colonisation of Mars and exploitation of its moons and the asteroid belt, the Inner-Solar Corporation (or ISC) whose operations span between Mercury and Venus, the Kardashev Holdings which own all solar stations orbiting the Sun to harvest its energy and transmit it back to Earth and other high-powered interplanetary facilities, and finally Zeus Interplanetary Mining Operations, colloquially known as ZIMO. Altogether, these four companies are known as the Four Space Titans. Zeus Interplanetary Mining Operations dominates the Jovian system, drawing vast reserves of helium-3, hydrogen, and sulfur from Jupiter’s crushing atmosphere through floating refineries tethered to orbital platforms. Its operations power much of the inner solar economy, making it a linchpin among the Four Space Titans. Workers live in pressurized hab-modules clinging to refinery arms or in rotating stations where gravity is a scheduled luxury. The sky above is a swirling ochre stormscape, lit by flares from gas siphons and the red glow of distant Europa. Despite its wealth, ZIMO’s workforce is stretched thin. Sabotage is common, not from outsiders, but from within—rival factions maneuvering for control while whispers spread of mutinies buried in incident reports. Though ZIMO is officially partnered with the three other companies, a cold war is brewing among the Four Titans: ZIMO and Kardachev Holdings vie for energetic supremacy in the Solar system, The Martian Project’s ownership of the asteroid belt is disputed by ZIMO which continues to increase the scale of its operations there - bordering to dangerous skirmishes with The Martian Project’s security as the outer edge of the asteroid belt pulses with armed drones from both ZIMO and The Martian Project, each side claiming mining rights by blood or bribe ; all the while The Martian Project and ISC maintain tense relationships in their continuous vying for favourable diplomatic ties with nearby Earth. Meanwhile, projects to pursue further exploration and exploitation in the Outer Solar System beyond the Jovian system attract the interest of ZIMO and other, smaller but more dynamic players wishing to carve their seat at the Space Titans’ table.
